What MEL collects

MEL counts how the site is used so we can make it more helpful. These counts never show who you are.

What MEL collects

  • How many people visit, and roughly where from (country, region, and city)
  • What kind of device and browser you use, and which website sent you here
  • Which topics and questions you open, and when you use "Show me how" or "See an example"
  • For questions you type: only which of MEL's built-in topics your question matched, or that it didn't match one

What MEL does not collect

  • Your name, email, phone number, or any account details
  • The questions you type to MEL. MEL does not save your questions or its answers.
  • Cookies. MEL's analytics (Plausible) don't use cookies or follow you to other websites.
  • Anything for advertising. Your information is never sold or shared with advertisers.

Feedback form

The "Share feedback" link opens an optional Google Form. Anything you write there is sent to the MEL team through Google. Please don't include personal health details, your name, or insurance member ID.

How typed questions are answered

To answer a question you type, MEL sends your conversation to Claude, an AI service from Anthropic, which writes the reply. Please don't type personal details like your name, date of birth, or insurance member ID.
